Murray, a cardiologist with medical practices in Houston and Las Vegas, had been hired by concert promoter AEG at the request of Jackson. Because of intense media interest, the Houston-based law firm that Murray hired in the days following Jackson’s death turned to Miranda Sevcik, a litigation communications professional, for help. Sevcik spoke to Tactics Online about the challenges of being at the center of a modern media maelstrom and how it’s changed her approach to public relations. Click here to read the rest of the story.
For Sevcik, president of Media Masters, a litigation strategic communications firm in Houston, the three weeks following Jackson’s death were a “continuous panic attack.” Stradley, Chernoff & Alford, L.L.P, the law firm representing Murray, hired her to handle media relations two days after Jackson’s death. ]]>

If you're Houston lawyer Ed Chernoff and your client was the King of Pop's personal physician, you enlist the help of your partners in an effort to redirect the 24/7 news cycle and show how your client cooperated with police — then you hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Chernoff, a partner in Houston's Stradley, Chernoff & Alford, represents Dr. Conrad Murray, who on June 25 found Michael Jackson in bed not breathing but with a pulse. Murray tried to resuscitate Jackson, 50, and then rode with him in the ambulance to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where the singer died that day. With Jackson's death came nearly instantaneous reports in the media that the megastar may have been abusing prescription medications. And with that news, Murray was thrust into the spotlight. Click here to read the rest of the story

by Gerald Posner The man behind the billion-dollar brand is desperately trying to save Tiger's financial empire, as his Gillette and Accenture deals now look vulnerable. As Tiger Woods' image gets tarnished by new daily accounts of dalliances, his workaholic agent, 42-year-old Mark Steinberg, has been scrambling. by James McKinley Jr. HOUSTON — Dr. Conrad Murray, who became famous for treating Michael Jackson just before the star's death, has been sued more than a dozen times for claims including breach of contract and unpaid child support. Yet he has never been sued for malpractice. Investigators searched the home of Dr. Conrad Murray in the Red Rock Country Club development in Las Vegas on July 28.
